Aim

Circumcisions (n=124) were performed at a community clinic under local anaesthesia. We reviewed early post-operative complications and Circumplast® separation.

Results

Mean age of patients was 19 ± 3 months. One hundred twenty two patients (98%) had spontaneous ring separation. Circumplast was removed electively in a 2 year old as per parents’ request and 9 year old child due to delayed separation.

Conclusion

Due to cylindrical design, the Circumplast® reduces the risk of migration/impaction of the ring to the shaft of the penis compared with Plastibell device.
