Boys Circumcision (3-12 years old)
Technique
Pain Management
We apply a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the area before administering a local anaesthetic injection.
Duration
The procedure will take approximately 15- 45 minutes, with additional time for preparation and time for the aftercare post-op inspection.
Recovery
Boys typically take a few days longer than a baby; the ring will fall off or full recovery within 2 weeks. We provide detailed aftercare instructions for boys’ circumcision.
Adolescent Circumcision (13-15 years old)
Technique
For older boys, we use the forceps-guided method, which involves either glue or stitches only. This is the best method.
Pain Management
We apply a topical anaesthetic cream one hour before administering a local anaesthetic injection, which numbs the area to ensure a pain-free circumcision. Paracetamol or ibuprofen can be taken if required after the circumcision.
Duration
This procedure will take around 45-60 minutes, with additional time for a consultation and aftercare inspection.
Recovery
The stitches will dissolve in around 3-4 weeks. No sport or physical activity should be conducted during the 2 to 3 week recovery period.
Adult Circumcision (16+ years old)
Technique
For Adults, we use the forceps-guided, sleeve-freehand method or a stapler circumcision, depending on the anatomy and reasons for circumcision. We perform the procedure with subcutaneous stitches and skin glue for adult circumcision.
Pain Management
Local anaesthetic injection is used to numb the area, ensuring complete comfort and a pain-free experience. Pain killers like Paracetamol and Ibuprofen can be used if required after the procedure.
Duration
This procedure will take around 20-50 minutes, depending on the method, with additional time for pre-operative assessment and post-operative inspection.
Recovery
For adult circumcision, the glue will come off on its own within 10 days; the stitches will dissolve in around 3 – 4 weeks, and the staplers will come off within 3- 6 weeks.
