We are a training centre, and we train GPs and other hospital doctors to perform circumcision to a very high standard. Our training manual is based on the World Health Organization (WHO) procedure for carrying out circumcisions. We take great pride in ensuring that our training is the best available for doctors. There are only a handful of clinics that carry out circumcision training in the UK.
The doctors at the Circumcision Centre are the only doctors to have had their work recognised in international medical journals and have presented their work internationally among their peers.
Our name is synonymous with excellence, quality, satisfaction & safety
Our lead clinic is based in Luton, and we have two branches in London, with another opening in Birmingham. We operate in a safe clinical environment and take the clinical care and post-op care we provide for all our patients very seriously. We carry out regular audits and have recorded very low complication rates. We do not provide a home circumcision service, as we do not believe this is the correct way to carry out this procedure.
Our audits over several years have shown a consistent low rate of complications. By carrying out all the circumcisions in a clinic-based environment, we can continue to provide low complication rates. We take great pride in our services, particularly with the welfare of our babies, children, and adults, and provide a 24/7 aftercare service.
People visit us from all corners of the United Kingdom, Europe, and other parts of the world. People who have visited us in recent times have included high-profile politicians, actors, TV personalities, and even a Premier League footballer, for circumcision for themselves or for their children. Eighty percent of our patients who visit us find out about us through recommendations from happy family and friends. We even have children of doctors and members of the CQC bring their boys to us.
In the News
In 2012, we had an article written about us in the Guardian newspaper, and in 2014, the Mayor of Luton and a local MP visited the clinic to see what we do.
You do not need a referral from your GP to have your son circumcised – this is solely a parental decision. You can simply call us to talk to our friendly team and book a convenient appointment slot. Whether it’s for personal, medical, cultural, Islamic, Jewish, or any other reason, all are welcome to use our services.
All circumcisions are carried out by qualified doctors. Some of our doctors are surgeons working for the National Health Service (NHS) as Consultant Urologists, and some of our doctors work as GPs with a specialist interest in circumcisions. All the doctors are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
Our senior doctors have performed over 4,000 circumcisions individually, and over 20,000 circumcisions as a clinic entity. Either a nurse or an operating room assistant is always available to assist the doctor in carrying out this procedure.
All our circumcisions are carried out either at Thornhill Clinic or one of our other centres based in Croydon or Leyton.
