Babies (Ages 0–2)
Baby Circumcision

Introduction
Circumcision for younger boys is the surgical removal of the foreskin covering the glans of the penis. The first step is to make an appointment online or call us. We offer the best possible service for those seeking a professional, high-quality, and good-value service. We choose the best methods of circumcision based on the age of the patient.
It may be performed for:
- Religious/cultural practices (e.g., Jewish Bris, Islamic Khitan)
- Parental preference (hygiene, social norms)
Preparation
We offer a preoperative consultation for all patients and their families. On the day, we take all parents and patients through the procedure and explain what is going to happen.
- Before Assessment: Evaluate medical history, bleeding disorders, or congenital anomalies, gestation and weight.
- Informed Consent: Both Parents must give informed consent and understand the risks (bleeding, infection, ring migration, buried penis and poor results) and benefits.
- Pain Management: Local anaesthesia (dorsal penile nerve block or ring block) and paracetamol.
- Theatre: We ensure a clean environment with sterilised disposable instruments and painless circumcision.
- Fasting: There is no need for the child to fast. He should drink milk as normally as possible at least one hour before his procedure.
Methods Used
Common techniques include:
- Circumplast Ring: It usually falls off within 10 days
- Plastibell Ring: A plastic ring cuts off the blood supply; it falls off in 10 days.
Results
Aftercare
Following the operation, we recommend the following post-operative care:
- Wound care: Keep area clean, apply petroleum jelly or antibiotic ointment.
- Pain relief: Paracetamol /ibuprofen (age-appropriate doses).
- Monitoring: Watch for excessive bleeding, swelling, or signs of infection.

Immediate Post-Procedure Care
Parental monitoring is essential during the first 24–48 hours after the procedure.
Watch closely for any swelling or bleeding during this period.
For Plastibell or Circumplast Ring
The ring should detach naturally within 10 days.
If the ring fails to detach by day 10, or if you notice ring migration, please get in touch with us.
Seek medical advice if there is persistent pain, signs of infection, or other complications.
Follow-Up
In most cases, no routine follow-up is required if healing progresses well.
Please get in touch if you are uncertain or have concerns about your baby’s recovery.
